I talk a lot of smack about California wine. Now I want you to understand that it is not because I hate the wine that comes from California, it is just that people from California (at least the wine growers) are a little slow on the uptake. For some reason they just cannot fathom that their climate is simply not suitable for growing all types of wine. Because of this a lot of very substandard wine is produced on a large scale. The reason this drives me crazy is that all that land is going to waste making inferior wine, when it could be put to use making phenomenal wine … why California? Why? California Wine Club
