Here’s what I did to lose 1/2 lb. per day. I got this lifestle change from a doctor on CNN and i can personally attest to its merit. Very simple and relatively painless.
Ready??

1. Eat 1200/1300 calories/day
2. Walk everyday for 45-60 minutes

As far as recipes, I would personally forget about food as a pleasure/comfort issue in your life for now.
I ate what I wanted, but counted every calorie. Typical menu for me: I ate ham sandwiches (diet bread no cheese with mustard) and a a few fat-free pringles. Fat free soda. Popcorn_light. Progresso chicken soup with a few crackers.
Whatever you want that you like and is easy to make and easy to count.

White rice recipes for a 5 year old with food allergies & eczema?

Hello, my little sister has severe eczema, severe food allergies, & asthma.

Her diet is very bland, but she is allowed to have fruits, (except for citrus.) chicken, & rice.

I’m looking for some nice food recipes to make her diet a little better for her. She has such a hard time, seeing everyone else eat & not wanting the kind of foods she can have.

Are there any recipes you know of that would help her to better love the foods she can have?

Here is one rice recipe that my kids love. The colors are bright yellow and green. I hope your sister is not allergic to any of the ingredients in it.

Saute a small sliced onion in 2 tbsp of canola or olive oil over low-med heat until the onion is soft. Add 1 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1 cup of rice. Stir and cook for 2 minutes, then add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. When almost all the water is absorbed add some frozen green peas and cook for 5 more minutes.

I have been diagnosed with a condition where can NOT eat any of the following foods:
Carbohydrates (especially involving yeast)
Potatoes
Fruits
Caffeine
Chocolate
Sugar
Cheese

–I’m tired of eating eggs for breakfast and snacking on pieces of meat— Any alternatives? especialy breakfast foods?

p.s. Im allowed to have tortillas and milk.
EDIT:: IM trying to fight an overgrowth of bacteria called Candida Albicans, as well as trying to cleanse a highly toxic liver. I not allowed to have cheese because it contains the fungus.

The Health Food store has delicious alternatives for the items you can’t eat. Substitute their items for normal items and you’re set. Let me explain: I don’t do dairy, so I eat cheese alternatives and use soy milk. I make recipes that ask for milk with soy milk.

I am trying to switch to a raw diet but every recipe i find has lots of things in it that I don’t know what are, and probably will not be able to find in my small town. I need tasty recipes using common food items.
Let me re-interate i asked for recipes. I am fully capable of saying "Carrot" and I am also capable of eating a "Carrot" but "Carrot" is not a recipe. I am looking for meals to prepare for my family.

There’s a book by Jennifer Cornbleet on easy raw recipes for one or two. Many vegan shopping sites do have raw items, and there’s also a raw foods website, www.naturalzing.com. There’s also a website called From Sad to Raw that has fairly simple raw recipes.

No white foods diet recipes?

Hey!
My husband and I are trying to eat healthier and maybe lose a few pounds. So we have been working out and we also decided to do the "no white foods" diet. No potatoes, no rice, bread or noodles (unless they are whole wheat) no sugar, etc. So I was wondering if you know any good recipes for that diet? We LOVE chicken and veggies and meat and stuff, but we aren’t big seafood eaters. We don’t like fish. So any good recipes you may have, please share them with me! Or websites! Thank you :o )

I have never been a fish eater, either but have you tried mahi mahi? It is very good and doesn’t even smell like fish! You should try it! There are some good recipes for it and LOTS of other things at allrecipes.com. just click on healthy cooking or vegetarian .Im not vegetarian but will sometimes use the recipes-especially the ones using beans-not really into tofu but I love beans and they are very good for you!
I would NOT cut out tomatoes, corn, bananas or white meat as suggested from other posters. You want white meat-just dark veggies, breads.. etc. Maybe cut back some on the corn but bananas and tomatoes? very good for you! Good carbs! oh yeah… try some brown rice,too. very good

ok, i have tried basically everything minus the atkins. i became a vegetarian a while ago and i lost about ten pounds from simply eating healthy, but i need to lose more, and i am working on a VERY tight budget. any help would be greatly appreciated.

eat only whole wheat bread and pastas (CHEAP)
brown rice (CHEAP)
beans (CHEAP)
miracle cabbage/diet soup (google it) (CHEAP)
lots of water (FREE)
celery and watermelon (CHEAP)
bananas (CHEAP)

***I eat a banana every morning for breakfast plus another serving of raw fruit, like a kiwi, some grapes or berries or something – then i wait to eat anything until lunch, I tell everyone this because seriously if you just do this you’ll lose weight, and it helps with digestion a lot too (which helps you lose weight). Don’t drink coffee either, just lots of water until about 3-4 hours later then eat lunch.

***Make lunch your biggest meal, some ideas
– bean and rice burrito (whole wheat tortilla, brown rice)
– natural peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread (with mashed raspberries, strawberries or slices of banana or apple)
– brown rice and steamed or stir fried vegetables
– veggie pizza on whole wheat crust (home made is cheaper)
– baby carrots, snap peas, celery, peppers to go with it lunch

Just have a big salad for dinner with some nuts/seeds in it for omegas and protein

And lots of water all day!
whole wheat pizza crust:
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1 tablespoon yeast
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted margarine (both work fine)
Directions:
Preheat oven 425 degrees. Mix the yeast with the lukewarm water untill the yeast is disolved. Let it stand for a couple minutes. Add the salt and vegetable oil/melted margarine. Mix. Add the flour, and mix. Roll out the dough. Put it in the oven for 5 minutes. Take it out and rub margerine over it. Add toppings, and cook for 10-15 more minutes.
Serves: 1-2
Preparation time: 20 min.

Just put on some spaghetti sauce and an assortment of veggies, like sliced zucchini and broccoli.

cheese is pretty fattening and I’d advise against it, plus it’s expensive

making your own bread is cheaper too

What are some good recipies? why did u choose to go raw?

I don’t know any recipes but be careful when you first start because your going to get sick and throw up a lot since your body isn’t used to eating raw food.

I’m on a diet what are good recipes/ cooked foods to eat that will fill me up, that are healthy and decent calories. Please give the recipe

DIET SUPER CHICKEN

4 whole chicken breasts, skinned and cut in half
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. diet apricot preserves
1/2 c. low cal French dressing
2 tsp. diet apple jelly
1 tsp. dry chicken bouillon

Place chicken in a foil lined pan. Combine salt, pepper, garlic powder and sprinkle on chicken. Combine and brush remaining ingredients all over chicken. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour.

DIET RICE

1 c. plain brown rice
1 c. diced celery
1 c. diced carrots
1 sm. onion
1/2 c. pecans
1 sm. can chunked pineapple
1 c. raisins

Cook rice according to directions on bag. Saute celery and carrots in pineapple juice for 10 minutes. Low heat, add onion and saute another 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add pineapple, raisins and nuts. Drain any liquid then add to cooked rice. Use soy sauce if desired. Serve as a side dish or use as a diet snack. (Can reheat in microwave.)

BAKED DEVILED TOMATOES (DIET)

4 lg. tomatoes, halved
Salt
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
2 tbsp. chopped celery
1 tbsp. chopped green onion
2 tbsp. butter, melted

Place tomatoes, cut side up, in baking dish. Sprinkle with salt. Spread with mustard. Combine green pepper, celery, onion and melted shortening. Spoon over tomatoes. Bake at 425 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes 8 servings, 51 calories per serving.
