Me and my boyfriend are getting our own place in a week and i want to know some healthy things i can make, i dont want to diet, cause that made problems for me. i just want to be healthy and not have a gut! I&#8217;ll be getting a bike and walking alot also since our place is in town. I like to go out and eat pizza and stuff but i also LOVE to cook my own meals. My favorite food is pizza. And of course my boyfriend is the Domino&#8217;s Pizza Delivery Guy so its kinda hard to shade away from there pizza! I was wondering if anyone would have some good pizza(homemade) ideas? my health is very bad i found out i have heart problems.<br />
i have severe agonizing pain 24 hours a day every day, i feel at times like a truck is hitting me, i scream from pain at times..i cry alot because i cant walk well my mobility is bad<br />
anyways since i got hurt my father has been after me. i came home from the hospital to recover so i can get back on my feet and go to school again<br />
instead my father is after me every day, screaming at me, harrasing me, threatening me, calling the cops on me and making up lies on me, he constantly goes to court against me<br />
he took out 6 court papers against me<br />
nno one will teach him his lesson. he bullies me and screams and curses at me and puts me down,. he makes fun of me that i cant walk well. i needed a walker much of the time<br />
he threatens me if i dont walk fast.<br />
he tries to stop me from eating food. i am a thin girl with a malnutrition problem. he dosnt let anyone send me food and then yells the only way for me to get food is to walk to the store when i cannot walk. he does it to play games. he knows i cant walk down a street. there are many delivery services but he wont let them send me food<br />
not even a resturant or food store<br />
he dosnt allow me to have vitamins or medicine sent<br />
he even tried to stop em from seeing the doctor<br />
one time he beat me up because he didnt want me to go to a doctor<br />
i wam weekened by all this<br />
i am scared out of my wits<br />
im terrified if he keeps screaming at me ill have a heart attack or die in my bed when i sleep.<br />

<br />&#8230;&#8230;.  The one thing you have to do is let him know you aren&#8217;t afraid.  He can control you, because he thinks he can.  If you stand him up, no matter how scary it is, he will probably just yell.</p>
<p>Try finding somewhere he can&#8217;t reach you, find out his schedule in his life and avoid it.  Whatever you do, do it behind his back.  I&#8217;m not sure; call the cops etc.</p>

I&#8217;m am now 32 weeks and my craving for food has increased.  I&#8217;m more on the edge and sad about it because diabetes runs in my family so I&#8217;m almost sure I will develop it later in my life if it goes away after my delivery.  I have been given a very difficult diet to go by that is not easy to do while pregnant.  I have to stick myself two hours after I eat to check my glucose level, which has the tip of my fingers sore&#8230; Also I have to check my urine every morning when I wake up.  I&#8217;m only 24 and I&#8217;m usually god with dealing with anything that comes my way but this is a major challenge for me.  My fiancee, family, friends, and co-workers are trying to be supportive by telling me what I can and can&#8217;t eat which is very annoying&#8230;..! It&#8217;s already normal for a mother to worry about her unborn child but i&#8217;m almost on the edge of a panic attack.  Does anyone else have this problem?<br />
<br />Freddie, you should do your research, you don&#8217;t die from gestational diabetes (if it&#8217;s controlled). Do you even know what it is?.</p>
<p>ANYWAYS, I do know exactly what you&#8217;re going through sweetie. I&#8217;m 33 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with it last month after doing the 3 hour glucose testing. </p>
<p>They sent me to a dietican, and she informed me of the diet I have to be on, which is basically a Low Carb one, I assume it&#8217;s the same for you? I have to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with a snack a couple hours after each meal (snacks after poking myself).</p>
<p>I too have to poke myself 2 hours after each meal. I also have to check my urine for ketones every morning. I do have my blood sugar under control though, it&#8217;s never been higher than the range that they gave me, and have mostly been in the late 80s and 90s as of lately.</p>
<p>Remember you can still eat like everyone else, you just have to portion it as they taught you to. Like a few days ago, one of my snacks I&#8217;m supposed to have 2 carbohydrates and I had a small lowfat brownie as opposed to the suggested (for me) 3 graham cracker squares and a cup of milk. Another day, we were out and it was my lunchtime, so we had to pull into McDonald&#8217;s, now usually I would&#8217;ve gotten a value meal, but instead I just got a cheeseburger and medium fries. I checked my blood sugar 2 hours later, and it was just fine. Obviously you don&#8217;t want to do that everyday though.</p>
<p>Did they give you an Exchange Lists booklet? If not, ask them to give you one or find out where you can get one for someone with diabetes, because they gave me one and it really comes in handy. It has lists of all foods and how many carbs they count as as well as the serving size.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s not easy, I know, but just think that you must do it for your baby! Then after you give birth, it will more and likely go away and you can have your hubby or boyfriend go to Dairy Queeen (or where ever) and get you what you&#8217;ve been craving for for so long! That&#8217;s what I&#8217;m going to do! lol</p>

I&#8217;d probably get sick of the food pretty soon though but because i never have it, it&#8217;s always such a treat to me. I order it like 2wice a month on avg. I notice that i seem to be the only one in this building that ever gets food delivered. It was like this at the other places i&#8217;ve lived too. Is 2wice a month too much to get food delivered or something? How often do you order food?</p>
<p>btw.. i rarely ever go out to restaurants. I&#8217;d much rather have it delivered and i live alone and enjoy eating alone. I&#8217;m not overweight or lazy or anything, if that&#8217;s what you&#8217;re thinking lol. I actually have a very good body. I just love the food at a couple of popular chinese restaurants around here and it&#8217;s just so much easier to get it delivered and not have to worry about running into ppl and minding my manners while eating (i used to have an eating disorder and have always dieted and had issues with food so i&#8217;d much rather eat alone). . Also i usually crave it late at night and at that time, it&#8217;s perfect for delivery.<br />
<br />My partner and I get take-out 2-3 times a month, like you we don&#8217;t eat out very often and prefer to stay in, eat a take-away, have a drink and watch a film.<br />
So no &#8211; I don&#8217;t think it is too much, as long as your fit and healthy, which you are!</p>

<p>So If I want pizza I go buy pizza but I am alot more conscious of what I eat.</p>
<p>So now a days I work in the evening and I usually Buy one candy bar in the mid-evening. Soon as 10 minutes after I&#8217;ve gobbled the candy I feel sick I get very car sick wich is bad cause Im a delivery guy. Any fast movements make me want to throw up and I feel the blood pressure in my head and I get sweaty and stuff.</p>
<p>I know its probably the sugar, isnt it? And why is that happening and do you know what is exactly happening in tmy body?</p>

<br />If your not eating a lot of sugar and then you eat an entire candy bar you will feel a sugar /toxin rush. </p>
<p>So just dont do it. Stay healthy&#8230; pick a health snack like an apple or an orange or even dried (non sulpher) fruit and nuts to eat. If your body is healthy it will feel great that youre eating something healthy and nutritious. Your trying to be healthy dont let candy win! </p>

B &amp; C injections but I continued to throw up nothing. I was sick while I was on the delivery table and put my jeans on 3 days later that fell straight off my hips. This time I have morning sickness that isn&#8217;t so bad. I can eat but the odd thing is that I&#8217;m normally athletic and have a very well balanced diet with a lot of fruits and vegies. Since the sickness started I can only eat rubbish! I cant swallow my prenatal vits anymore and eat chips and small portions of fried chicken. I know I have to be very careful with chicken and make sure its super cooked. I cant stomach vegies anymore and the only thing that makes me feel so much better is greasy disgusting fried food. I don&#8217;t know how to handle this I want to give my baby nourishing food not crap. Is there any suggestions on how I can eat more wholesome foods and keep it down. Thanks everyone!<br />
<br />Wow, thats a tough one! You are only eight weeks pregnant and you are already that sick!! Im sorry&#8230;Ive never been pregnant before, so I wouldnt no what that sickness feels like!! My advice would be that you HAVE to eat something&#8230;&#8230;.so, if you can only have fried fast food for now than you should eat it because not eating would be worse!! After a while your sicknesses will go away and then you can give your baby some healthy foods! Just make sure you are taking all of the vitamins and stuff you should be taking and you should be fine! Its just part of being pregnant.</p>

I know questions about diets have been asked alot, but I really need help.  My boyfriend and I just got our first apartment together in Maryland, because he got a great job offer.  He is the only one that works right now, so we pretty much live paycheck to paycheck, so I cant afford Nutrisystem or anything like that.  Doctors say that I will develop diabetes if I dont lose weight, and heart disease runs in my family.  My father had a heart attack 2 years ago (he survived it) and his father died of one, so did my grandmother on my mothers side.  I already have high cholesterol.  Anyways Ive tried Atkins, South Beach, etc and nothing seems to work.  Ive tried regular diet and excercise, but I cant stick to it. I crave Chinese food and carryout everyday. It makes me sooo happy to eat out or get delivery. I hate cooking and home cooked meals.  I feel completely helpless at this point, and I really dont know what to do. I have also been checked for thyroid disease, but my thyroid is fine, so its not that. If anyone has been in my position or can help please let me know what to do!!</p>

<p>if you want to lose weight and try and avoid risks of diseases and better your appearance then diet and excercise is the way to go =]</p>

<p>its okay to eat out, but you have to eat out at the right places and eat the right foods =]</p>
<p>you have to excercise too, diet will help you lose weight but it won&#8217;t make you healthy! its a two part thing =]</p>

<p>swimming is great because the water in which you swim in supports your joints, so for bigger people swimming has no risks but ALL the benefits =]</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I quit smoking a little over three years ago.  Since then, I hear people who quit smoking for ten years talk about how they started up again, which I find so discouraging.  My cravings have not stopped for this entire three years!  How much longer will I have them?  I do have a glass of iced tea or water with me at all times to sip and distract me.  I am also trying to lose the weight I gained since quitting, and it&#8217;s much more difficult dieting without the oral crutch of cigarettes.</p>
<p>For the past four days, I guess the stress of these cravings is starting to get to me.  It is all I can do to go from hour to hour without getting on the phone and ordering food and having the delivery person pick me up some ciggs. Maybe I need some kind of  refresher course.  Another hypnosis session maybe?   They say these cravings now are psychological, but they sure seem physical to me.  I did smoke for a long time, so maybe that has something to do with long term cravings. </p>
<p>Any suggestions from someone who&#8217;s been through this?  Anyone ever hear of a national hotline for nicotine madness?<br />

<p> well lady, your a lot like me..  i found answers to all those things you posted about in a support group.. I don&#8217;t know how you quit initially, but congrats on that time.. 3 years is an eternity, congratulations there is really no wrong way to quit..</p>
<p>  you mentioned the water thing, so you know some methods.. i was taught the 5Ds..</p>
<p> 1 distract.. it hard to smoke for instance, when your hands are in dishwater..</p>
<p> 2 delay (ie I don&#8217;t need one now).. a series of delays is a quit..</p>
<p> 3 discuss your doing that now by posting your question..</p>
<p> 4 drink water.. you know that one, it relieves cravings and flushes<br />
toxins</p>
<p> 5 deep breathe, most smokers learn to only inhale deeply when smoking.. deep breathing helps with oxygen among other things.. </p>
<p>in the support community we do have a saying the &quot;weight can wait&quot; its natural to gain a few &quot;new quit pounds&quot;.. later your metabolism changes, and generally this isn&#8217;t a concern in long term quits.. the weight issue, isn&#8217;t worth sabotaging your nicotine freedom for..</p>
<p> well actually there is not a national hot line for nicotine madness&#8230; there is the next best thing&#8230; I am member of nicotine anonymous, I attend meetings both locally, and on line.. a number of online voice meetings are as close as your computer..Good luck on whatever method you use, and congrats on those big 3 years!!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>since i found out how easy it is to make a homemade pizza, i eat it has a snack or lunch more often. i use regular ready to use crust, spagetti sauce shredded cheese and sausage or ham. how can i make a low calorie, healthy pizza that i can snack on that wont hurt my diet? (i like all foods, ive added spinach and mushrooms.)</p>
<p>BTW how do i make the cheese melt rather then just browning. i set the over on 450F for 10 to 15 minutes. i tryed turning it down to 350 but the cheese doesnt melt and spread like you see on delivery pizzas. thanks<br />

<p>Cooking Time</p>
<p>15 minutes<br />
Add ingredients to shopping list<br />
Ingredients (serves 4)</p>
<p>    * 2 x 335g 97% fat-free pizza bases<br />
    * 1/3 cup basil pesto<br />
    * 2 cups sliced roasted vegetables (such as potato, pumpkin, onion)<br />
    * 1 cup (90g) chopped roasted turkey, skin removed<br />
    * 8 cherry tomatoes, halved<br />
    * 1/2 cup grated light mozzarella cheese<br />
    * 30g baby spinach</p>
<p>Method</p>
<p>   1. Preheat oven to 220°C. Arrange pizza bases on 2 baking trays. Spread with pesto.<br />
   2. Divide vegetables, turkey and tomatoes between pizza bases. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 10 minutes. Swap pizzas over in oven and bake for 5 minutes or until bases are crisp and cheese is melted. Top with spinach. Season with salt and pepper and serve.</p>
<p>Notes &amp; tips</p>
<p>    * Variation: This recipe works equally well with roasted chicken instead of turkey.<br />
    * Tip: To reduce the fat and kilojoule content, replace the pizza bases with Lebanese bread and the pesto with hommus or baba ghanoush.<br />
    * Cost per serve using leftover roasted vegetables and turkey</p>
<p>The above recipe is quite good, for the cheese problem you have &#8211; the key is slow and low heat cooking, and I would also suggest grilling it, but remember on a low heat.<br />
If you have a fan-bake and grill in one option, use that. </p>
